The idea of eating sardines? That’s a hard pass from me.

The idea of trying sardines, recommended by new friends I met when I stopped in their adorable little wine and cheese shop while town hopping along the coast of Maine, and looking for the perfect boujee snack to enjoy while sitting by the water and letting the cool breeze hit my face?

Absolutely indisputably yes.

And that’s how I found myself in this situation:

I recognized the brand Fishwife because I’d recently seen it in Costco, where it stood out in total contrast to its fellow sad, tinned fish options as I sped down the uninteresting, verging-on-disgusting aisle.

All of that to say, today, let’s circle back to the topic of premium animal protein brands while applying some transferrable insights from an edgy little emerging brand shaking up a stodgy, boring category: tinned fish.
