I have recently been sucked into the vortex of interviews by AI founders and investors, and hearing them describe in their own words how they imagine the future and AI’s role in it. Wowee do their words elicit some big feels, big thoughts, and big questions.

There is nothing neutral about how these folks describe the future they see.

While the upside is inspiring and exciting, listening to them describe the potential downside kinda feels like I’ve just accidentally walked into a Sci-Fi book club in a foreign language, which kinda makes me want to crawl under my desk and hide in the fetal position with an adult beverage like, ya know, Fairlife chocolate milk.

I’m going to step out on a limb and assume I’m not alone in this bewilderment.

We will get to how AI might impact livestock another day, but first, I needed to build my mental scaffolding about how AI might impact everything — so that’s my intent today: to put the big idea of Artificial Intelligence into big picture context.
